A dash wiring coupler from a mid seventies Ford pickup was used to make all gauge connections, much easier than having to disconnect every wire one at a time.

Since the inside part of the bezel, where the speedometer goes is tapered, part of it had to be removed to make the inside diameter fit the diameter of the new speedometer chrome ring. The outer half of the ring rests against the bezel opening and the inner half shows inside the bezel opening, looks much like original one. I used a drill press with a fiberglass cutoff disc. I was able to spin the bezel on the dill press table to get an even cut around the gauge opening.

Soldering one of the female ends to wires going to the gauges. Male ends are soldered to the ends of the wires coming from the harness.

I couldn't decide how to mount the speedo so I held it in position with tape and hot glued it in from the back side.

I retained as much of the back cover as I could in order to use holes for original turn signal lights.
